Prediciton: Chapter 4 will be realted to CANTHA
Many people seem to think the Chapter 4 is going to be based in Charr territory, or maybe west of Maguuma, or east of Ascalon, or in Orr...
...but I think Chapter 4 will be connected to Cantha.
Why?
1) Canthan events have returned, including a *new* holiday.
2) The same team that created Factions is working on Chapter 4.
3) Elona already expanded Tyria, from a certain point of view.
4) They are not going to abandon a chapter; doing a second "Tyrian expansion" would leave Faction even emptier than it is now.
Cantha is nowhere near as "awful" as some people make it out to be; in fact, over time, I've come to really enjoy many parts of Cantha. Oh, I hate the mind-numbing city quests and initial 10k faction grind, and access ot the elite missions is poorly done -- but in terms of being *unique* and *visually interesting*, Cantha certainly has its good points. And I still think that mobs in Cantha are far more mentally challenging than the ones in Tyria or Elona.
I'd love to see an expansion that focused on the "tunnel" between Tyria and Cantha, the one used by the Dredge in their escape from the Stone Summit. A gigantic underground cave system...
So I think Chapter 4 will be based in Cantha. And I look forward to it.
Edit: I'm home with the flu... and boy, I can't type to save my life! Can a mod please fix the title typos?

Truly I would like more of a relation "to the west"
If anyone remembers the Original Guild Wars Trailer, the Charr was an invasion. I would seriously love to see how they came about and decided to hit the Ascalon Kingdom. The story behind the motivation is somewhat lacking in Tyria more then within Cantha IMO. Personally I wouldn't really want anything relating back to there. Cantha had a problem which originated in its continent, and it was settled in its own continent. Tyria has way too many loopholes in its own story of development and history to let loose like this.

Actually if you talk to the NPC's in the realm of Torment you will actually discover more of why the Charr did what they did.
*LORE SPOILER*
In case you hadn't noticed with the big burning effigy outside of Nolani academy the Char worship fire. Specifically the Charr worship the Titans. The Charr were goaded into the invasion by the Lich's machinations in order to help spur the release of their gods into the world. The Lich in turn worked for Abbadon and yada yada yada.

Wait but did'nt the charr worship the titans before the lich got the sceptre of orre(and summoning his titans) , wouldent that mean the charr would be following other titans? and still following the lich's titans when they came.
but on topic I'd actually like to see a chapter thats prophecies specific(getting rid of the charr threat maby acess too an after charr's end tyria) It wouldent mean much even though it would be considered time travelling but the same happens when a chararacter goes factions or elona-> lions arch.

Nah they worshipped the same Titans. It's not like the Lich made the Titans he summoned he just let them out. The Titans are ancient creatures, old enough to serve Abaddon, and old enough to have been sealed away by the Mursaat, who themselves are a very old race. The charr worshipped those Titans and if someone said." Hey I'll help you spring your Gods from the clink if you can do a little something for me." Wouldn't you do it?

Back to the point, if I may... Ch. 3 closed the book on the first "trilogy" of the GW world. I have a feeling that chapter four may not even be on the same planet... otherwise Nightfall would have affected them as well. New planet, new gods perhaps?
Travel of characters between realms would be an interesting tie in... but doable... magical wormhole or something...
Whatever we all predict, we'll all be wrong.

oh the good old newbie days fighting charr outside ascalon city and piken square and the like....i would love to see charr reintroduced into the game. i always wanted to fight level 24 and 28 charr. only time you get to do that is during those few titan quests after hell's precipice (which i might add are my favorite quests/mini-missions out of all campaigns). i also would like to see chapter 4 have some relation to cantha. i loved factions, pve and pvp, but it was just too easy. thats my only problem with it. i liked exploring kaineng city and got to know all the routes and paths to everywhere like the back of my hand. i also like it because i take all my low level characters there and power-level them with all those 2000-4000 exp quests in kaineng center. (level10-20 in about a half hour). i liked the whole city feeling with peasants walking around aimlessly (kind of funny) and i liked the look of the jade sea and the whole luxon side. the kurzick side in my opinion seemed to not have as good of graphics and detail as the rest of the game and that could have been better. (btw, i am kurzick =x).
well, maybe they can try and connect all three games or at least tyria+cantha for the 4th campaign. i dont see guild wars going much farther after a 4th campaign.

Hey... wait a second... the Palawa Joko invasion came from the north down to the Desolation, right? And the Charr came to Ascalon... This might be a chapter that connects the Tyrian part and the canthan part?
Although a place with both Charr and some kind of undead freaks really creeps me off

No way. There's nothing that needs to be answered from Factions. The whole storyline seems like a lead-in to Nightfall's story. Chapter 4 would be better if it weren't focused so much on a country as on the war between the Gods.
Question:How do people know GW is a trilogy? Did ANet say it was? Chapter 4needs to be related or how are we supposed to use our old toons?

Umm, yeah, if you read the lore behind the game, both prophecies and Factions were set ups by Abbadon and the fortune teller was one of his margonites who you actually get to slap around in DoA on the way to mallyx...
the full lore is actually very interesting read and fills in a lot of the plot holes from all three, here you go: http://gw.gamewikis.org/wiki/Storyline

That just means we can only hope they learned from what they did that made Factions suck.

Oh, so with the 3rd chapter you can go wondering around all of Prophecies without buying it?

Because they are stronger in relation to the character than other chapters monsters are. Jade Knights have absurd armor.

you sound angry and bash-ready like most people that play this game anymore, and while i dont really see your points at all, i do admit factions doesnt have the run-through that nf/proph has, but it keeps noobs out too. i like the art/areas in Cantha better than any other gws game, (except the mirror of lyss/kodash) and maybe you need more practice if Canthan baddies are too rough for you

Maybe you need to read.
All the reasons he put for Cantha being the next game don't make sense.
And if you paid attention to the gaming industry, pretty games with bad gameplay don't sell, despite foolish people here praising Cantha for having the best visuals but not the best gameplay or best designed areas.
